Beau Solberg of Boyden has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.
Solberg is a 6’0″, 200-pound running back and linebacker who played three years for Boyden-Hull / Rock Valley. Solberg ranked fourth on the Nighthawks with 40 tackles, including 11 solo stops, and registered four quarterback sacks last fall. He earned first team all-district honors and helped lead his team to a class 2A state runner-up finish and 11-2 record his senior year. Solberg added 151 yards rushing and one touchdown on offense. An academic all-district selection, Solberg plans to major in Political Science at Northwestern. He is the son of Roger and Audrey.
“We are thrilled to have Beau join our Red Raider football team,” stated Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. “He is an excellent athlete who understands the game. Beau has a contagious energy and a motor that never stops. Beau will excel on our defense over the next four years.”
