Spectators Welcomed Back As Iowa Baseball Hosts Minnesota

Iowa City, Iowa – Nearly 13 months later fans are welcomed back to Banks Field Friday night when the Iowa Hawkeyes open a three game Big Ten baseball series against Minnesota.

Capacity will be limited to around 12 hundred fans which is 50 percent.

That’s Iowa coach Rick Heller who says spectator sports aren’t as much fun without spectators.

Iowa has won five of six and is now 9-9 in the Big Ten. The Hawks still rank near the bottom of the league in hitting but they are near the top in pitching and defense.

Heller says the conditions may favor defense this weekend.

The series concludes on Sunday.
