The Boys State Boys Basketball Tournament opened Monday in Des Moines. Remsen St Mary’s was the first of the area teams in action with a win in the 1A Quarterfinals.
Central Lyon followed Remsen St Mary’s with a win in the first 2A Quarterfinal. Western Christian (20-3) will open tournament play on Tuesday at 12:15 as the #3 seed. They will square off against #6 seed Monticello (17-6).
