The Iowa State Baseball Tournament opens on Monday with Class 1A and Class 2A at Carroll and the 3A and 4A Tournaments at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City Home Field of the Hawkeyes.
Three area teams will be at Carroll. From the War Eagle Conference Remsen St Mary’s and LeMars Gehlen both qualified in Class 1A. Remsen St Mary’s will go first taking a 29-2 record against St Ansgar who comes in at 26-7. First pitch is Monday afternoon at 4:30. That will be followed by (23-5) Gehlen at 7:00 against (28-1) Lynnville Sully at 7:00.
In Class 2A West Lyon from the Siouxland Conference will open tournament play on Tuesday afternoon. They take a 24-2 record against (26-3) Van Buren County.
The Spencer Tigers will represent the Lakes Conference at the 3A tournament in Iowa City. They open the quarterfinals on Monday the 17th taking a 23-7 record against (27-5) North Polk. First pitch is scheduled for 11:30 Monday Morning.
