State Wrestling Tournament Day Two

Des Moines Iowa — The 2020 Iowa State High School Wrestling Tournament continues at the Wells Fargo Area Friday.

The area will be well represented by Siouxland, War Eagle and Lakes Conference individuals.

Class 2A Quarterfinals

Jonathon Burnette of Spirit Lake Park won a 5-3 decision to advance to the semis. In the semis he lost an 8-2 decision and is in the consolations.

Johnny Hua of MOC-Floyd Valley was pinned in 1:07 and went into the consolations. He lost an 8-5 decision and is out of the tournament

Kalen Meyer of Central Lyon-G-LR was pinned in 2:49 and falls into the consolations. He won a 9-8 decision to advance

Dylan Winkel of Central Lyon-G-LR won a 7-0 decision to advance to the semis. In the semis he won a 5-3 decision and will wrestle for the title Saturday night.

Chris Van Der Brink of Boyden Hull-Rock Valley was pinned in 1:39 and falls into the consolations. He won by fall in :45 to advance.In the next round he won by fall in 5:08 to advance.

Jarrett Meyer of Central Lyon-G-LR lost 3-1 in overtime and falls into the consolations. He won a 3-2 decision to advance. In his next match he was pinned by Van Der Brink and was knocked out of the tournament.
