Orange City — Sophie Swart has signed a letter of intent to continue her golf career at Northwestern College this fall.
Swart completed a standout, three-year career playing for the MOC-Floyd Valley High School golf team. Swart qualified for state as both a sophomore and junior and earned first team all-conference honors both years. She was also a second team all-conference pick as a freshman and has personal best rounds of 38 (9 holes) and 83 (18 holes).
“Sophie has outstanding work ethic and has shown ways in which she wants to better her golf game,” said Northwestern Head Coach Courtney Den Herder. “She takes lessons from the pro at her home course and plays all the time with her cousin Maggie or with other members of her family. We are excited to have Sophie join our team this fall; she is a great young lady who comes from an outstanding family.”
Swart received the CNOS Leadership Award in basketball and was named team captain this past season. A member of the National Honor Society and academic all-conference recipient, Swart plans to major in Genetics at Northwestern. She is the daughter of John and Mary.
