TeKrony To Run For Defenders

Sioux Center, Iowa — Caleb TeKrony, a senior at Unity Christian High School has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track and field programs.

“I am pleased to welcome Caleb to our program,” said Nate Wolf, Dordt University Head Cross Country Coach. “Caleb has had a great high school experience running for Unity Christian. The preparation he has had within that program under Coach Kaemingk will help him as he transitions to college running. I look forward to working with Caleb the next four years.”

TeKrony qualified for the state cross country championship two years and was part of three Knights cross country teams that won the War Eagle Conference championship. He earned all-conference honors two years and finished third at the conference championship last fall.

TeKrony was part of a Unity Christian track and field team that won a pair of conference titles. He earned all-conference accolades with a fourth place finish in the mile. TeKrony has personal bests of 18:09 in the 5K, 5:14 in the mile and 11:10 in the 3200m.

“I chose Dordt because of its great cross country and track programs,” stated TeKrony. “The coaches have been very welcoming throughout the recruiting process and I am really excited to run with and meet my new teammates.”

TeKrony is the son of Norm and Candi and plans to study Biology at Dordt.
