Sioux Center, Iowa — Three individual Dordt baseball season records fell over the weekend at games hosted in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Gyeongjue Kim (Junior; Seoul, South Korea) struck out eight batters in his start on Saturday and lifted his season total to 80, bettering the previous mark of 79 set in 2017 by Connor Hopkins.
Logan Cline (Junior; Cheyenne, Wyoming) swiped three more bases to bring his season total to 27. He passed Taylor Neuroth’s 2017 total of 24 and has been caught stealing once this year.
Chase Edwards (Senior; Chandler, Arizona) has knocked in 44 runs this season and passed Craig Broek’s 2000 total of 42.
“Kim, Edwards, and Cline put in countless extra hours to improve on the field and seeing them reach these single season marks is special. It is not often that individual season records are broken and it is cool to have three of them broken in one year. I am proud of their efforts on the field, but more importantly I am proud of the men they are off the field. They represent Defender baseball in a positive light in all they do,” said Dordt baseball coach Nathan Bacon.
