Des Moines Iowa — The brackets have been released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Sheldon will open tournament play Wednesday October 19th in the quarterfinals of Class 3A Region 1. The Orabs will be in the upper bracket at MOC Floyd Valley. Also in the upper bracket it’s Cherokee at Sioux Center. In the lower bracket it’s Estherville Lincoln Central at Spirit Lake and Pocahontas Area at East Sac County. The region final is set for Cherokee on Monday the 31st.
In Class 2A three area teams are in the top 6 in the latest poll. Western, Unity and Central Lyon were all assigned to different regions for tournament play. Central Lyon is in Region 1 and received a first round bye. Unity is in Region 2 with a first round bye and Western is in Region 3 with a first round bye. Play in games are scheduled for Tuesday October 18th to set the quarterfinals on Monday the 24th.
The Region finals are scheduled for Tuesday November 1st. The Region 1 final will be in Hinton. The Region 2 final will be at Manson. The Region 3 final will be at Emmetsburg.
In Class 1A play in games are scheduled for Tuesday October 18th with the quarterfinals on Monday the 24th. Area 1A teams are in Region 1 where the region final will be decided on Tuesday November 1st in LeMars.
