Trio In Serious Trouble With Iowa DNR

Des Moines, Iowa – Three Polk County men face a total of 151 charges relating to alleged fish and game violations that occurred in Greene County.

Iowa DNRCharged were Hossein Kolbehrdari, 20, of Ankeny, Maxwell McGlothlen, 21, of Ankeny and Rheise Presnall, 22, of Polk City.

A search warrant of a rental home being occupied by the three men was executed in early November by law enforcement officers from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Charges against Kolbehrdari include:
1 count illegal possession of deer
1 count illegal possession of a wild turkey
1 count of failure to have a federal duck stamp
1 count of failure to have a deer tag
1 count failure to check turkey
29 counts of keeping game birds or animals as pets in violation of Iowa Code Chapter 483A.23
29 counts of unlawful possession of game birds or animals
1 count of taking fish without a license
1 count of possessing a rifle while deer hunting
1 count of unlawful possession of fish
1 count of unlawful possession of a Pied Billed Grebe
1 count of unlawful possession of a Blue Wing Teal
1 count of not having a game breeders license.

In all, Kolbehrdari faces fines totaling up to $6,832 if found guilty of all counts. In addition, the DNR will seek liquidated damages for game that is alleged to have been illegally harvested.

Charges against McGlothlen include:
1 count no hunting license, $100.50
1 count no habitat stamp, $87
1 count no deer tag, $93.75
1 count possessing a rifle while deer hunting, $127.50

In all, McGlothlen faces fines totaling up to $408.75 if found guilty on all counts.

Charges against Presnall include:
1 count illegal possession of fish, $127.50
1 count illegal possession of a whitetail deer
1 count No deer license or tag
1 count no habitat fee, $87
1 count no small game hunting license
29 counts of keeping game girds or animals as pets in violation of Iowa Code Chapter 483A.23
29 counts of unlawful possession of game birds or animals
1 count of possessing a rifle while deer hunting
1 count of unlawful possession of fish
1 count of unlawful possession of a Pied Billed Grebe
1 count of unlawful possession of a Blue Wing Teal
1 count of not having a Game Breeders License
1 count of not having a State Waterfowl Stamp
1 count of not having a Federal Waterfowl Stamp
3 counts of unlawful possession/take of squirrel
5 counts of unlawful possession/take of dove

In all, Presnall faces fines totaling up to $7,818.75 if found guilty on all counts. In addition, the DNR will seek liquidated damages for game that is alleged to have been illegally harvested.

The DNR investigation of the case is on-going.
