Cedar Falls, Iowa — Northern Iowa football coach Mark Farley says the Panthers are not even close to being ready for their season opener which is two weeks away.
UNI opens on February 19th by hosting South Dakota State and Farley says because of the pandemic they will need to get the entire roster game ready.
The Panthers lost several key players to the NFL draft and the transfer portal which will test the Panther’s depth.
Farley says having a veteran staff is a plus.
Farley says the Panthers are not the only Missouri Valley team dealing with defections.
