Unity Christian Volleyball Headed Back To State

Sioux Center Iowa — 5th Ranked Unity Christian is headed back to the State Volleyball Tournament following a 3-0 win over Sheldon for the Class 3A District 1 title. The set scores were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-10 at the Sioux Center High School Gym. It was a rematch of last years Region final.

We talked with Head Coach Patty Timmermans after the match and asked about the game plan for the Orabs going in.

Timmermans on the significance of working that game plan.

For a team with a number of stars the coach felt it was a true team win.

The plans leading up to the State Tournament do include a little celebrating to kick off what will be a busy but enjoyable schedule.

Unity will take a 23-5 record into the Class 3A State Tournament. Sheldon ends the year with a record of 15-14 and a run to the Region Final to close out the season.

Unity drew the #5 seed and will open up the tournament on Tuesday November 3rd in Cedar Rapids at 10:00 am. The Knights will go against #4 seed Davenport Assumption who comes in at 22-2.
