The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Huff Mid-America Sports have announced Colton Van Otterloo as the conference player-of-the-week for play last week for games played April 1-7. Van Otterloo played his high school ball at Western Christian.
Colton batted .653 last week as the Defenders went 2-2 in GPAC play. In a win over Midland Van Otterloo established a school record with nine runs batted in a tied a school record with two homeruns. He totaled 11 runs batted in with two doubles and a stolen base in the four games.
The Defenders are scheduled to return to conference play on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14 in a pair of home doubleheaders against Doane College.
