Orlando, FL — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and his family are spending time at his parents house in Florida during this “stay-at-home” time.
Cousins says he is working out and staying in shape, using virtual technology from his personal trainer and throwing footballs to his relatives or neighbors. Cousins says he is disappointed the team won’t have receiver Stefon Diggs on the team, saying the departure was a the result of a “unique dynamic” in Diggs not wanting to be on the team. Cousins says he texted Diggs after the trade and wished him well, telling him he was as good of a receiver as he’s ever thrown the football to. Cousins says the offense may have to evolve to something a little different that we’ve seen in recent years with the loss of Diggs. Cousins speculated that could include the possibility of running more sets with multiple tight ends and a fullback. He also says he plans to use his legs more to help the offense sustain drives by keeping plays alive or by running for positive yardage. Cousins says he has not used his athleticism enough in his career and he is hoping to change that. Cousins says he hopes the N-F-L season can start on time, but not at the expense of the public’s health.
