Waechter and Newberg Officially Sign

footballNine players from high schools across the state of Iowa penned National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to play football for the University of Iowa. Four are part of a five-member unit of offensive linemen, the largest position group in the class.

Native Iowans who will become Hawkeyes include a four man offensive line group from Northwest Iowa. That group includes Jake Newborg from West Lyon, Brett Waechter from the Hartley Melvin Sanborn program along with Twins Landan and Levi Paulsen both from the Woodbury Central Program. All four are from successful small school football programs in Northwest Iowa.
