Hawarden Iowa — West Sioux ran their season record to 21-0 with a 63-47 win over Sheldon in a Class 2A District 16 semifinal at Hawarden Thursday night. The Falcons will move on to the District Final on Tuesday against Rock Valley who down Western Christian 34-32 in the other semifinal.
West Sioux jumped out to a 20-12 first quarter lead behind a 14 point effort from Hunter Dekkers who scored a game high 30 points. At the half West Sioux led 30-12. At the end of three the lead was 51-30 as they went on to earn a spot in the District final 63-47. Dekkers was joined in double figures by Chase Ranschau with 12 points.
Sheldon had two players in double figures as Mitchal Wolf hit for 11 and senior Marshall Kleinhesselink finished his Orab career with a 10 point night.
With the win West Sioux runs their unbeaten streak to 21-0 while Sheldon wraps up the season at 6-17.
