Des Moines — Western Christian will take on Cascade in the Class 2A Championhip after defeating Anamosa 69-48 in Des Moines Thursday afternoon.
Western Christian would start the game off with an early 9-2 lead with all 5 starters scoring. By the end of the 1st Western would have a 16-10 advantage. Anamosa would wedge their way back in midway in the 2nd period to get to within 1 point, but Western would maintain their lead heading into halftime with a score of 28-22. The Wolfpack would come out of the locker room with authority and take control of the game. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Western would extend their lead to 46-31 and cruise to a 69-48 victory.
The Wolfpack had 3 players in double figures. Josh Van Lingen had a game high 23 points, along with 21 rebounds for the double-double. Ben Gesink added 17, and Taylor Miedema put in 10 of his own.
The Blue Raiders were led by Kyle Schepanski with 17 points.
Western improves to 24-2 on the year. Anamosa finishes their season at 21-6.
