Western Christian Girls Down West Sioux in 2A Regional Opener Saturday

Hull, Iowa — Western Christian opened the 2A region 7 tournament with a 53-41 win over West Sioux to advance to the quarterfinals. The Wolfpack will meet Central Lyon in Rock Rapids on Tuesday night.

Western led at all the breaks up by five at the end of the first quarter 11-6. At halftime the lead was 29-19. At the end of the third the Wolfpack maintained a 35-26 advantage and went on to win it 53-41. Senior Sienna Moss led the offense with a game high 12 points. Sophomore Stella Winterfeld was next with 9 points. Megan Watterman led the Falcons with an 11 point night. Addison Dekkers was next with 9 points.

A balanced offense was the key for the Wolfpack with 7 players finding a spot in the scorebook with four players hitting for 7 points each.

With the win Western Christian improves to 6-17 on the season. West Sioux finishes at 12-11. With the win western is on to the quarterfinals Tuesday night at 7th ranked Central Lyon in the upper bracket of 2A Region 7.
