Western Football Looking To Make Another Playoff Run This Season

The Western Christian Wolfpack are looking to make waves heading into their 2018 season with many starters back and look to return to the Dome for the 3rd time in 4 years.

We had a chance to talk to Western Christian head coach Travis Kooima, and Kooima is excited about the depth of the team overall.

Wolfpack quarterback Carter Broek returns to the starting role after missing the majority of last year’s season when he went down with an injury in Week 2. Coach Kooima tells us about what Broek has done to get back into the huddle.

For the first time in four years, the Western backfield will not have the Wolfpack’s all time leading rusher Ben Granstra getting the carries, and Kooima gives us a breakdown of who will fill that role.

Western Christian takes on MOC-Floyd Valley week 1 of the regular season, and according to Kooima, both teams are in the same boat with the loss of some key players.

Some may be overlooking Western Christian due to their non-district schedule where they play up at least one class all four games, along with their district opponents, but when asked about being a possible underdog, Kooima simply responded

Week 1 action starts for Western Christian at Korver Field at De Valois Stadium on the campus of Northwestern College on Friday, August 24th against the Dutch of MOC-Floyd Valley.
