Hull, Iowa – Western split a double header at home on Tuesday night. The girls came up short to Sioux Center 55-38 and the boys would roll over Sioux City North 74-33.
Sioux Center led throughout the contest behind their full court press forcing the Wolfpack to commit some early turnovers and allowing Sioux Center to push out to a 12-4 lead after one and would keep that momentum going into to the second quarter and led 23-14 at half. The third quarter was much the same with the Warriors extending their lead slightly to 38-26 after three and went on to the victory by 55-38 score.
The Warriors placed ten players in the score book and were led by Reagan Jansen in double figures with 14 points. The Wolfpack would place two players in double figures led by Sienna Moss with 13 followed by 12 from Madison Vis on four three pointers.
The Warriors improved to 7-5 overall and the Wolfpack fell to 3-9.
Western led from the start in the boy’s contest over Sioux City North and would push out to a 19-11 lead after one. Full court pressure from the Wolfpack pushed that lead to 41-14 at the break. The Wolfpack’s reserves played most of the second half and they would cruise to a 74-33 victory.
The Wolfpack put 13 players in the scorebook tonight led by Wyatt Gulker with 12 and Ty Van Essen would add 11 points. The Stars were led by Carter Pinney with 8 points.
The Wolfpack improved to 8-3 on the season and the Stars fell to 2-9.
Next up for the Wolfpack will be on the road as they travel to Unity to take on the Knights on Thursday evening.
