Will To Play Football At Northwestern

Greg Will of Spirit Lake has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Will is a 6’3″, 250-pound offensive / defensive lineman who played four seasons for the Spirit Lake High School football team. Will totaled 60.5 stops, 16 tackles for a loss and seven quarterback sacks last fall, earning first team all-district honors. He also helped pave the way for an offense that scored 50 touchdowns and averaged over seven yards per play. Will was part of a Spirit Lake team that qualified for the state playoffs and finished with a 7-3 record. An all-conference player in both soccer and basketball, Will is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in Criminal Justice at Northwestern. He is the son of Rod and Tracey.

“Greg is an outstanding addition to our 2019 recruiting class and Red Raider football program,” said Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. “He is athletic, possesses good size and has top-notch work ethic. Greg was a force on both sides of the ball and made a ton of plays. We look forward to Greg joining our football team and the impact he will have on our squad and campus community.”
