Hull, Iowa — The Western Christian Wolfpack swept the Storm Lake Tornadoes Friday night in Lakes Conference action Friday night. The girls game went to Western 61-18, and the boys game went to Western as well 93-58.
The Western girls were in control the whole way leading at all the breaks. After one quarter of play Western Christian’s lead was 18-8, at halftime it was 41-12. After three the lead ballooned to 54-17, and Western went on to win 61-18.
Western got a game high fourteen from Olivia Granstra, and Macay Van’t Hul added another 13.
The Wolfpack improve to 7-3 on the year and 4-1 in the Lakes. Storm Lake falls to 0-9 on the year and 0-5 in the conference.
The boys game was just like the girls game with Western leading at all the breaks. Western jumped out to a 29-16 lead after one, and lead at the half 50-22. After three the score was 71-40, and Western went on to win 93-58.
Western had five players in double figures. Dalton Westra had a game high seventeen that all came in the second half. Ty Van Essen had sixteen, Tyson Boer added fourteen, Wyatt Gulker put in twelve, and Tate Winterfeld added ten. Storm Lake got a team high eleven from Jamuo Gatwech.
Western Christian improves to 7-2 on the year, and 4-0 in the Lakes. Storm Lake falls to 4-4 on the year and 3-2 in the conference. Up next for the Wolfpack ladies is a contest against Sioux City East at the Tyson Events Center Saturday night at 9:30 pm.
