Zach Lutmer Has Committed To The University of Iowa Football Program

Rock Rapids, Iowa — It is official, Central Lyon quarterback Zach Lutmer will be signing a letter of intent to play football with University of Iowa this Wednesday (December 21st) at 2:15 p.m.

Lutmer is a three-year starter for the Central Lyon Lions,  a three time First-Team All District Player and had been selected Offensive Player of the Year for three years in District one.

Lutmer has many records to his name as well. One for more than 1,000 passing yards each season, finishing with 3,567 yards. Another is a school record of ending his high school football career with 4,417 rushing yards. He also has almost 8,000 yards of offense playing for the Lions, as well as ending his high school career with 154 defensive tackles, including eight tackles for loss, 11 interceptions, and three defensive touch downs.

Lutmer also lettered in track, baseball, and basketball. In the 2022 basketball season he was selected for the First Team All-State and also the All-Tournament Team.

With a GPA of 3.84, the University of Iowa has offered Lutmer a scholarship, which he has accepted. He plans on majoring in Exercise Science.

Lutmer is the son of Mark and Dana Lutmer.
