T-Mobile Opens A Store In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa —  Sheldon residents now have another retail location for their cellular service.

T-Mobile has opened its Sheldon location and is officially open for business. It’s located on North Runger and Highway 18 and is next to Sheldon Nails and Spa in the strip mall (in the former location of Chinese Chef, which has moved across the highway).

The T-Mobile store will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. T-Mobile officials say the store is part of their plan to expand to small towns and rural communities all over the country.

To show the commitment T-Mobile has to small towns and rural communities the company has begun its T-Mobile Hometown Grants program, which began in 2021 and is a $25 million five-year initiative that provides grants to 100 small towns each year. These grants can be used for beautification projects, public improvements, and more. To date, T-Mobile Hometown Grants have provided $320,000 in funding to eight small towns in Iowa. These towns include Mason City and Storm Lake. Towns with populations less than 50 thousand are eligible and T-Mobile encourages them to apply.
