Rock Valley Man Arrested After Accident

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was arrested after an accident near Sioux Center on Sunday, June 4th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 8:30 pm on Sunday, 18-year-old Brooklyn Iverson of Rock Valley was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion eastbound on 390th Street, three miles west of Sioux Center. Twenty-nine-year-old Emiliano Trujillo of Rock Valley was driving a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on Garfield Avenue. According to the report, Trujillo failed to yield from the stop sign, entered the intersection and struck Iverson. The report continues that Trujillo did not stop after the accident and was later found by officers on foot two miles from the accident location.

The Ford received $10,000 damage; the Jeep received $4,000 damage.

Iverson reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

Subsequently, Trujillo was arrested with charges of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, driving with a suspended driver’s license, failure to yield from a stop sign and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department and Rock Valley Police Department.
