Scoop On Soil Program Scheduled At Prairie Heritage Center

fresh soilSutherland, Iowa — If you’ve always wanted to know more about the soil, what lives in it, and how it works, there’s a program coming up at the Prairie Heritage Center that’s just for you.

The soil beneath your feet is the topic of the program presented by the O’Brien County Conservation Board. O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea says the presentation will allow participants to take a closer look at the ground.


She says you’ll learn about the benefits of soil, and how you can play a part in taking care of this resource for the future.

Elyea says the program is part of the “Living in Iowa” series, for which the have a display at the Prairie Heritage Center.


Get the “Scoop on Soil” at the Prairie Heritage Center between Sutherland and Peterson on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. It’s open to all ages and is an inside program.
