Fire Claims Payloader At Meadowvale Dairy

Rock Valley, Iowa– A payloader was destroyed in a fire on Monday, February 4, 2019, near Rock Valley.

According to Rock Valley Fire Chief Brent Eshuis, about 3:45 p.m., the Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of a payloader on fire at Meadowvale Dairy, 1760 300th Street, seven miles west, a mile north, and a half mile west of Rock Valley.

The chief says the fire department saw the payloader fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says the payloader was about 60 feet from a building, but there was no damage to the building.

Eshuis says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Chief Eshuis reports that the older payloader was totaled in the fire.

He says they used about 1,500 gallons of water to fight the fire, and the 13 firefighters who responded were on scene for about 50 minutes.
