Sheldon Fire Company Called To High School

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon firefighters were called to the Sheldon High School around 9:30 Thursday evening when someone smelled something hot coming from above the ceiling.

Sheldon Assistant Fire Chief Brad Hindt says an inspection by firefighters didn’t discover a fire, and he says the mostly likely cause of the smell was a bad ballast in a fluorescent light.

Hindt says firefighters returned to the station around 11:00 pm.
