Paullina Man Faces Felon In Possession Of Weapons Charge

O'Brien Sheriff 71-6Paullina, Iowa — A Paullina man faces a felony charge after the O’Brien County Sheriff’s office found him driving an unregistered vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that they arrested 32-year-old Joshua Joseph Ritchott of Paullina this past week. They report that he was driving an unregistered 2003 Dodge truck, and pulled into Casey’s General Store in Paullina. The deputy arrested Ritchott and among his charges was Felon in Possession of a Firearm, which is a Class D felony.

They report that they towed his truck and the next day they received a search warrant to search the truck, where they found a 9mm handgun, a rifle, and ammunition for the rifle, which were all seized.

That same day, he made an initial appearance before the magistrate and his bond was reduced to ten percent of $5000. He posted the $500 cash bond and was released. According to court records, he faces his first court hearing on February 7th.
