Three Hartley Residents Injured In Accident

O'BrienSheriffHartley, Iowa — Two Hartley teens and Hartley woman were both taken to the hospital after an accident near Hartley on Tuesday, December 20th.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 8:00 pm on the 20th, 16-year-old Luke Peters of Hartley was driving a 1989 Toyota Deluxe eastbound on 350th Street, south of Hartley. Twenty-eight-year-old Emilie Oviatt of Hartley was driving a 2012 Dodge Caravan southbound on Vine Avenue. According to the report, Peters was turning to go north on Vine Avenue. Peters entered the intersection and collided head on with Oviatt.

Peters and a passenger, Rens Wammes, were transported by Primghar Ambulance to Baum Harmon Hospital. Oviatt was taken to Baum Harmon Hospital by a private vehicle.

The Toyota received $1,500 damage. The Dodge received $12,000 damage.
