Drug Case Sentencing Pushed Back Again

Orange City, Iowa — A man who was arrested on a felony drug charge near Sioux Center was scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, July 24th. But his plea taking and sentencing has been pushed back a second time.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on April 17th, one of their deputies arrested 43-year-old Omar Bautista Rodriguez of Sioux City. Authorities say Bautista‐Rodriguez was the subject of a joint drug investigation between the Sioux and Lyon County Sheriff’s Offices, and that he was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a class C felony.

At last report, Bautista-Rodriguez was considering a plea agreement. The plea-taking and sentencing is now scheduled for Monday, August 21st at 11:00 a.m. in Sioux County District Court in Orange City.
