The Sioux City Symphony Youth Orchestra will host its fifth annual “Summer Strings Camp” and “Junior Strings Camp” August 7th through 9th at the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City.
The tuition‑free camps bring young instrumentalists together for masterclasses, private lessons, sectionals, and rehearsals led by SCSYO directors and musicians of the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. The weekend concludes with a public concert on Sunday, August 9th, at 3 p.m., featuring a side‑by‑side performance with members of the SCSO.
The Junior Strings Camp will be led by Michele Grossman, while the Summer Strings Camp will be directed by Dr. Bradley Miedema and Kristin Ortmann, with instruction provided by Sioux City Symphony musicians. Registration is free and required by July 1 by emailing scsyo@siouxcitysymphony.org.
