Hawarden, Iowa — An Alcester, SD teen was taken to a hospital after an accident near Hawarden on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:55 a.m., 17-year-old Emma Erickson of Alcester, SD, was driving a 2021 Nissan Versa southbound on Cherry Avenue, four miles north of Hawarden, when she entered a curve in the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west side ditch.
The Hawarden Ambulance took Erickson to Hawarden Regional Hospital.
The Nissan sustained approximately $16,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office reports that the Hawarden Police Department, Hawarden Ambulance Squad, and Hawarden Fire Department assisted with the response to the accident.
