Archer Man Injured When His Motorcycle Strikes Deer

Dickinson County, Iowa — An Archer man was taken to the hospital shortly after 7:30 Friday evening after his motorcycle collided with a deer in Dickinson County.

According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, 51-year-old Christopher Zoet, of Archer, was eastbound on County Road A-43, on a 2007 Honda VTX 1800, when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with the motorcycle. Deputies say Zoet was ejected from the motorcycle on impact, and taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

Deputies say Zoet’s Honda was a total loss.
