Ashton Man Arrested In George For Felony OWI

George, Iowa — Early Friday morning a Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a rural Ashton  man for Felony OWI (Operating While Impaired).

According to court documents, 45-year-old Arvin Krahling, of rural Ashton, was driving a pickup that was pulled over in the 200 block of West Calumet Avenue in George shortly before 2:00 am Friday.

Authorities say Krahling failed standardized field sobriety tests, and reportedly tested above the legal limit for blood alcohol content.

Court records say this incident is Krahling’s third OWI arrest, which elevates it to a Class D Felony. He was also charged with having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle, which is a Simple Misdemeanor.

Krahling was taken to the Lyon County Jail at Rock Rapids. Online court records indicate that Krahling had his initial appearance before the Magistrate Friday morning, and was then released on bond.
