Sioux Center, Iowa (SCR) – Sioux Center firefighters responded Sunday evening to an incident at the Interstates building at 444 12th Street Northeast after a haze was reported inside the facility.
Sioux Center Fire Chief Dave Van Holland says the firefighters wanted to respond with caution because they weren’t sure what they were walking into.
Van Holland says people were inside the building at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on scene for about an hour and a half. No damage was reported.
The building also houses two other businesses: Trans Ova Genetics, one of its Sioux Center locations, and Center Benefits.
Van Holland called the incident unusual.
The Sioux Center Fire Department was assisted by the Orange City Fire Department, Sioux Center Ambulance, Sioux Center Police Department, and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
