Multiple Summertime Festivals In Northwest Iowa This Weekend

Northwest Iowa — The summertime festivals continue. This weekend is a popular one for festivities. It’s Rally in the Valley in Rock Valley, Summer Celebration in Hospers, and Days of Olde in Ocheyedan.

In Rock Valley, festivities continue from now through Saturday night. They’ve got such activities as community meals, a hometown t-ball clinic, a fun shoot at the gun club, eating contests, a drive-in movie, a golf tournament, a cruise night, a fun run and walk, a parade, family fun, a dunk tank, mud volleyball, a tractor pull, turtle races, a rib competition, a street dance, a fireworks show, and much more. In Hospers, the activities are on Saturday and include a bake sale, a smoke-off, both a sand volleyball and a bean bag tournament, a bubble station, inflatables, balloon art, a family comedy concert, free ice cream, food trucks, a free-will donation meal, and more, with proceeds going to the Hospers EMS facility. Ocheyedan will celebrate Days of Olde Thursday, August 6th through Sunday, August 9th at Ocheyedan City Park. There will be a Little Mister/Miss Contest and King & Queen Crowning, a honey‑extracting demo, vendor fairs, a kid’s parade, kickball, co‑ed volleyball, a movie in the park, karaoke, yard games, a 5K, a parade, food vendors, a kids pedal pull, fire truck rides, a museum celebration, a car show, a foam party, magic arts, face painting, a hot air balloon (weather permitting), an FFA meal, a street dance, and late‑night food trucks.
