Hartley Woman Arrested Following Car Chase

O’Brien County, Iowa — A Hartley woman was arrested Sunday on a trio of charges stemming from a pursuit in O’Brien and far western Clay Counties late Sunday afternoon (September 27th).

According to the online O’Brien County Jail Log, 39-year old Dawn Marie Harris of Hartley was charged with Abandon of Neglect of a Dependent Person, which the Iowa Code lists as a Class C Felony, along with Misdemeanor charges of Eluding and Interference with Official Acts in Connection with the incident.

Officers from the Iowa State Patrol, O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, Hartley Police and Sanborn Police were reportedly involved in the chase.

O’Brien County officials tell us that the Iowa State Patrol is in charge of the investigation and report of the incident. A call to Iowa State Patrol Post #6 in Spencer indicated that Troopers were still working on the official report, along with any other potential charges. No further information is available at this time.
