Hawarden Man Charged In Business Burglary

Hawarden, Iowa — A 44-year-old Hawarden man faces multiple felony charges following the investigation into a business burglary that occurred earlier this month.

Hawarden Police tell KIWA they investigated a burglary at Central Catering back on July 5th. As a result of that incident, Hawarden authorities secured arrest warrants charging Jeffrey Scott Mueller of Hawarden with 3rd Degree Burglary for the burglary of the Central Catering building, 3rd Degree Burglary of a Vehicle for burglarizing a box truck at the Central Catering location, and 2nd Degree Theft, for allegedly stealing more than two-thousand-dollars in restaurant supplies and miscellaneous other items during the burglaries. Each of the three charges is a Class D Felony, according to Hawarden police.

Online Sioux County Jail records indicate that Mueller was arrested by Orange City Police on those warrants earlier this week. He was reportedly released on a $5,000 bond.
