Granville Teen Loses Life In Two-Vehicle Collision

Granville, Iowa — A Granville teen lost his life in a two-vehicle accident one-half mile north of Granville Thursday evening.

Sioux County authorities say the crash happened at the intersection of 450th Street and Marsh Avenue about 8:15 Thursday evening.

According to authorities, a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 24-year-old Isaac Conrad, of Paullina, was eastbound on 450th Street, and 17-year-old Jacob Koob, of Granville, was southbound on Marsh Avenue in a 2003 Buick Century, when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Deputies say Conrad and Koob were both transported by ambulance services from Granville and Hospers to Orange City Area Health. Conrad was later transferred to MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City for further treatment of serious injuries. Authorities say Koob was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

The Buick sustained approximately $9,000 in damage. The Jeep sustained approximately $9,000 in damage.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Granville Fire Department, Granville Ambulance and Hospers Ambulance.
