Hull, Iowa — The investigation into an alleged assault has resulted in a Hull man facing numerous criminal charges.
Sioux County authorities say they received a report of an assault that occurred at a residence in Hull. Deputies say that, upon further investigation, they discovered that 42-year old Jose Estrada-Martinez of Hull had stabbed his roommate with a knife-sharpening steel rod. Authorities say that victim sustained minor injuries in the stabbing.
Deputies say further investigation revealed that Estrada-Martinez had provided a false name and a false Minnesota identification card, and had been working at B & M Concrete in Hull under someone else’s identity. Deputies also discovered that Estrada –Martinez was previously arrested in Sioux County three other times and he provided another false name for those arrests.
According to authorities, Estrada‐Martinez was arrested for assault with intent to do injury, obstructing prosecution, providing false information, possession of false identification, forgery and identity theft.
At last report, Estrada-Martinez was being held in the Sioux County Jail at Orange City.
