Hull, Iowa — A Hull teen was taken to a hospital after a crash on Friday night in Hull.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us that a few minutes before 10:00 p.m., 16-year-old Kellen Van Schepen of Hull was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu southbound on Division Street. They say 16-year-old Gracie Weidner of Hull was driving a 2017 Buick Enclave, also southbound on Division Street.
According to the report, Van Schepen began passing Weidner as Weidner attempted to make a left turn onto 9th Street, and the vehicles collided.
The Chevy Malibu sustained about $20,000 in damage, and the Buick sustained about $3,000 in damage.
The Hull Ambulance Squad took Weidner to Sioux Center Health.
The report says speed is a likely factor, and the accident is still under investigation.
