Sheldon Man Accused Of Selling Marijuana And Cannabidiol Vapes In Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested on felony drug charges after what appears to have been a sting in Sioux Center.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sioux Center Police, 19-year-old Alex Chavez Morales of Sheldon is accused of selling marijuana and cannabidiol vapes in the Sioux Center Walmart parking lot. He was arrested on Thursday.

In his statement, the officer says the alleged crime happened on January 15th when Chavez Morales and an accomplice delivered 70 marijuana joints and 70 cannabidiol vapes to an individual in exchange for $2000 cash.

Chavez Morales was charged with possession with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both class D felonies. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison on each charge.

Chavez Morales was booked into the Sioux County Jail in Orange City, and was released the next day after posting a $5300 bond.
