Inwood Man Faces Felony Drug Charges After Drug Bust

Inwood, Iowa — An Inwood man is facing a number of felony drug charges after a drug bust near that community.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday, December 7, 2020, their deputies carried out a drug search warrant at 1884 Cherry Avenue, which is about four and a half miles north of Inwood, in the Lake Pahoja neighborhood.

They tell us that upon completing the search warrant, law enforcement seized about 231 grams of marijuana, about 271 grams of marijuana wax, a large amount of drug paraphernalia, and evidence of drug distribution. Three unknown substances were also found and have been sent to the Iowa DCI Laboratory for further testing.

As a result, 35-year-old Anthony Jay Anderson of Inwood was arrested and was charged with two felony counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, two felony counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor offense.

The sheriff’s office reports that Anderson was transported to the Lyon County Jail and the bond was set at $15,000. They tell us Lyon County K9 Rizzo assisted in the investigation.
