Sioux Center Fire Department Responds To Report Of Feed Mill Fire

Sioux Center, Iowa — The Sioux Center Fire Department was called out on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

According to Sioux Center Firefighter Kelli Willett, about 9:25 a.m., the Sioux Center Fire Department was called to the report of a feed mill fire at 4121 Garfield Avenue — Center Fresh Egg Farm — three miles west of Sioux Center on 400th Street, and a little over a mile south.

Willett says the firefighters found a motor in the mill building had been on fire, but was out by the time they got there. She says they checked the motor over, sprayed minimal water, and ventilated the mill.

Firefighter Willett says no injuries were reported, and the damage was limited to the motor.
