Original Story:
Lake Park, Iowa — An overnight house fire in Lake Park sent one person to the hospital.

Lake Park Fire Chief Brandon Ehret tells our Community First Broadcasting Spirit Lake Bureau they were called to 305 East 5th Street around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.

He says they found the male victim when they walked in. They performed CPR and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The cause of the fire is undetermined says Ehret, and the condition of the victim is unknown. He says one dog did die in the fire.

Ehret says the former garage had been turned into a living room and that was the main area of fire. He says the kitchen did sustain some fire damage and the rest of the home had smoke damage.

He tells us the Milford Fire Department, Lake Park Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Park Ambulance, Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance and Lake Park Utilities assisted on the scene.
