Lake Park Woman Facing Felony Drug Charges After Sheldon Area Stop

Sheldon, Iowa — A Lake Park woman has been arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop near Sheldon.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 29-year-old Christine Larson of Lake Park is accused of the possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested on Tuesday, June 13th.

In his statement, the deputy states Larson was stopped for equipment violations, and during the course of the traffic stop, the Sheldon Police Department’s K-9 Balin indicated to the presence of narcotics in the car. During a search of the car, the deputy says 2.1 grams of meth was located in a small wallet.

Larson was charged with third or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. If convicted, Larson could face up to five years in prison.

She was booked into the O’Brien County Jail and was subsequently released. She faces a preliminary hearing on Friday, June 23rd.
