Hawarden — A Le Mars man was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a single-vehicle crash late Friday night near Hawarden.
Sioux County authorities say the mishap occurred around 10:00 Friday night, when a 2009 Infinity QX56, driven by 63-year-old Lim Mabior, was southbound on Cherry Avenue, two miles north of Hawarden, when he swerved to avoid a deer on the roadway, lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch and rolled.
Deputies say Mabior was transported by Hawarden Ambulance to Hawarden Regional Health.
Damage to Mabior’s Infinity was estimated at $10,000. Mabior was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
Sioux County deputies were assisted by the Hawarden Fire Department, Hawarden Ambulance and Hawarden Police Department.
