Police: No Foul Play Suspected In Sheldon Hotel Death

Sheldon, Iowa — Law enforcement officers are still investigating a death at a Sheldon hotel, but they have now released a little more information, including the name of the victim.

Sheldon Police Chief Scott Burtch says that on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the Sheldon Police received a call of a deceased person at the Holiday Inn.

He says officers contacted the Iowa DCI for assistance in the investigation.

An autopsy was performed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Burtch now says no foul play is suspected in the death. The individual was identified as 64-year-old John Hill of Missouri.

Burtch says Toxicology reports are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
