Lyon Deputies Make Two Felony OWI Arrests Over The Weekend

Lyon County, Iowa — Lyon County Deputies made two arrests over the weekend for felony OWI and narcotics violations, in separate incidents.

Late Saturday night, Lyon County 911 received a call of a vehicle in the field near 240th and Garfield, north of Doon. Court records indicate the car had failed to stop at the T-intersection and went airborne into the Lyon County Conservation Area.

Deputies say they arrested 39-year-old Brian Penney of Sioux Falls for 3rd Offense OWI, which is a Class D Felony, as well as Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor. Penney was taken into custody and transported to the Lyon County Jail.

Then late Sunday night, a Lyon County Deputy pulled over a car in Rock Rapids for not having license plates and varying speeds. Court records indicate that 28-year-old Brianna Songer, of Sioux Falls, was placed under arrest for 3rd Offense OWI, a Class D Felony, as well as Possession of Methamphetamine, a Serious Misdemeanor. She was transported to the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids.
